The palace located near the Napier Museum was built during the reign of Travancore king Sree Moolam Thirunal to entertain its guests and serve non vegetarian food. It is now protected by the tourism department.The palace plays host to many cultural meets and programs including All India Dance Festival conducting every year between October and March, where artistic dancers grace the venue with their classical performances.It is the first digital garden in India and any of the plants in the palace garden can be scanned using a QR Code scanner to get details like botanical character, species, nativity, distribution including the flowering period over the 21 acres of land
