Kaviyoor Rock Temple, also known as Kaviyoor Mahadeva Temple, is a historic Hindu temple located in Kaviyoor village in the Pathanamthitta district of Kerala, India. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is believed to be one of the oldest temples in Kerala, dating back over 1,200 years.
The temple is situated on a small hill surrounded by lush greenery, and it is renowned for its unique rock-cut architecture. The main deity of the temple is Lord Shiva in the form of a lingam (a symbolic representation of the god). The lingam is installed in a small cave-like sanctum carved out of a rock, hence the name "Rock Temple."
