Punnamada Lake, also known as Vembanad Lake, is a prominent tourist attraction and a beautiful lake situated in the state of Kerala, India. It is the largest lake in Kerala and one of the longest lakes in India. Punnamada Lake is located in Alappuzha district and stretches across several towns and villages.

Punnamada Lake is renowned for hosting the annual Nehru Trophy Boat Race, one of the most popular and competitive boat races in Kerala. During this event, beautifully decorated traditional boats known as "chundan vallams" compete against each other, with rowers vigorously paddling to the rhythm of traditional songs and drum beats. The race draws a large number of spectators and provides a thrilling experience.
